Items Your Professional Movers Can't Move

Getting Ready to MoveBy Julie DeLong, A-1 Freeman Moving Group

Congrats, you're the smart one who lined up your moving company in advance, walked through your residence with a moving company rep to ascertain the amount of moving trucks and staff you require, and efficiently packed and tagged your cartons.

So now, have you read the small print on the contract? In case you didn't review the entire thing, and quite a few people do not get beyond the date ranges and numbers before their eyeballs glaze over, find it, have a seat, and study it now. Fill an additional cup of coffee if you want to, but once you reach the part regarding what the movers can't place on the truck, odds are pretty decent that contract will have your undivided focus.

What You Cannot Transport

Which of these is NOT allowed on a moving van? Are some of these illegal for the workers to load and transport, or is it merely company policy? The answer is a quite direct to the point, it all depends.

· Rubber Plant

· Mower

· Fireworks

· Money

The only thing mentioned above that CAN go on the moving van will be the lawn mower--if the gas and oil tanks have already been emptied. Indoor plants generally can't cross state lines--this is a legal issue--and moving companies would not like any insects currently in leaves or the soil leaping ship into the truck itself.

Fireworks are forbidden.

Moving companies aren't going to be responsible for valuables on the truck. Your homeowner’s insurance coverage may take care of any material losses, but most likely is not going to replace lost cash. Take it to the bank and get it once you are settled or carry it along with you.

What is considered Against the law to Transport

So, the list of the things it's not possible to pack and load is not such a bore, in any case. These are a few other things that movers will not load, as well as the main reasons why not.

· Anything that is flammable, corrosive, explosive or combustible and can theoretically put the lives of the workers as well as the equipment in danger, is prohibited. So, a mower with an empty gas/oil tank is fine, but an aerosol can of disinfectant isn't.

· House plants--a number of states have policies about what houseplants can traverse the state line. Mites and pests that are not a problem in certain states are substantial risks in others, so leave your indoor plants for the neighbors or offer them to your pals. Should you be bringing the plant containers, clean them with bleach prior to when you load them.

· Alcohol--laws differ among states. Stay safe and have a clear the bar get together prior to when you move.

· Gasoline

What Nearly all Company Policies Prohibit

Each professional mover has its own list of disallowed things, but these are the typical items you can expect to leave behind or carry yourself.

Chemical substances are based on their potential to have interaction with other matter and alter the structure and substance of that matter. Simply put, this implies that when you put weed killer and wood stains on the moving van together and they accidentally connect under force or high temperature, seriously bad things can occur. And of course if you think a couple of bottles of nail polish and remover plus a chemistry set will not pack enough of a wallop to change anything, you'd be incorrect. So Never pack the subsequent.

· Household Cleaners

· Paint and Paint Remover--this includes nail polish

· Pool chemicals

· Pesticides, Weed Killers, and also Fertilizers

· Aerosol Cans

· Perishable Foods

· Fireworks

Don’t forget that grocery delivery is a marvelous thing--buy online and have your cleaning supplies, paper items, and food items delivered soon after you have gotten to your new residence.

For those who have any questions concerning some products, consult your moving company prior to moving day, specifically if you want to make other plans for transport or donations.
